Enhancing Translation Competence via Flipping the EFL Translation Classroom in China

The ultimate goal of translation teaching is to cultivate the students’ competence. Inspired by PACTE (PACTE, 2003) about definition competence, we further break down competences into five sub-competences with more explicit goals: lexical variety, grammatical correctness, stylistic appropriateness, fluency and coherence which vital for cultivation competence engineering students. Then, an experimental method used compare outcomes students enrolled in a flipped traditional version EFL (English as Foreign Language) Translation Course at university China. This empirical study aims determine effectiveness classroom model (FCM) class. 60 undergraduates majoring science technology are involved this research.
